Day 1: Dushanbe

Our guide will pick you up at the airport and check you into your hotel. The first day will be spent on a guided city tour. First we will visit Rudaki Park, the National library, the Parliament House and the Jomi Theater. Then we will walk through the National park and take pictures of the second biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. After a tour in Central Museum you will have lunch. Then you will visit the Gurminj Museum of traditional Musical Instruments and the Kohi Navruz — the most beautiful and largest cultural and recreational center in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. To feel the real life, you should visit the Asian (Mehrgon) Bazaar. There are colorful goods, fruits and vegetables. Today we will see the main sights of Dushanbe and you will learn many interesting facts about the Tajik people. Dinner will be in a traditional restaurant where you will taste Tajik dishes.

Day 2: Dushanbe — Iskanderkul Lake (The Lake of Alexander the Great)

Our adventure continues with a scenic drive to Iskanderkul, a picturesque mountain lake located at 2 255 m. in the heart of the Fann Mountains. Named after Alexander the Great, this legendary spot is one of the Central Asia’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

The route takes us over the dramatic Anzob pass (3 372 m) offering unforgettable panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys — a photographer’s dream. Upon reaching the lake you will have time to relax and explore its beautiful beaches. This area is perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility. A short 40 minute hike will lead us to a stunning waterfall hidden among the rocks.

Did you know? Tajikistan is one of the most water-abundant countries in Central Asia, with over 1000 rivers, 2000 lakes, and more than 8000 glaciers.

Day 3: Iskanderkul — Panjakent (Journey to Ancient Sogdiana)

After breakfast, we will travel through the beautiful Shahriston Pass (3378m) to the ancient city of Panjakent. On the way, enjoy the ever-changing mountain scenery as we descend in to the lush valley of the Zeravshan River.

Located in the northern part of Tajikistan, Panjakent(meaning «Five Villages») is a place steeped in history. Founded between the 5th and 8th centuries AD, it was once the thriving center of the Sogdian civilization — a veritable hub of culture, trade, and craftmanship.

Often called «Pompey of Central Asia», ancient Panjakent boasted impressive architecrute: palaces, temples, colorful houses decorated with murals, and statues of ancient gods — all within a well-planned, fortified city. Despite being buried for centuries, the ruins were only discovered in the 20th century, providing a fascinating glimpse into a forgotten world.

Day 4: Panjakent — Jeti Kol (Tour to Markuzor Lakes)

Today we will travel to the heart of the magnificent Fann Mountains, one of the most beautiful places in Central Asia for nature lovers and hikers. Our destination is the legendary Jeti Kol (Markuzor Lakes), located 60 km south of Panjakent.

This stunning valley is home to a chain of seven crystal-clear lakes, each located at a different altitude and sparkling in unique shades of blue and green. The road passes through a stunning gorge, offering breathtaking views at every turn.

We will take short hikes between the lakes, soaking up the fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to visit local villages, experience traditional mountain life, and experience the warm hospitality of the region. A great day for nature, culture, and photography.

Day 5: Jeti Kol – Artuch Base Camp (Gateway to the Peaks)

After a scenic descent from Jeti Kol, we head south to the remote mountain village of Artuch. Nestled deep in the Fann Mountains, this area is home to one of Tajikistan’s most renowned mountaineering centres, Artuch Base Camp at an altitude of 2,200 metres.

Surrounded by towering peaks and alpine valleys, Artuch is a great starting point for trekking adventures. The camp offers stunning views and a peaceful natural environment, with easy access to some of the region’s most beautiful high-altitude lakes and mountain trails.

Whether you’re here for a hike, a break, or just to enjoy the mountain atmosphere, Artuch is a peaceful and unforgettable place to recharge and reconnect with nature.

Day 6: Artuch – Istaravshan – Khujand (History and Leisure)

Today we continue our journey through stunning mountain landscapes to the historic city of Istaravshan. Often referred to as an open-air museum, this ancient city boasts winding alleys, mud-brick houses, and a well-preserved old quarter with classic Central Asian charm. You will have time to wander its narrow streets, explore traditional settlements, and feel the timeless spirit of the Silk Road.

After exploring Istaravshan, we will head to Khujand, one of Tajikistan’s oldest cities and an important cultural center in the north.

In the afternoon, we will relax at the beautiful Kairakkum reservoir, also known as the “Tajik Sea.” Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shore, admire the beautiful views, and even go for a refreshing swim in the waters of the Syr Darya.

Day 7: Khujand-Dushanbe

We will head back down through the mountains to the capital. We will spend the afternoon in the city.

Day 8: Departure – Farewell and a New Beginning
